Previously featured on Live Delay in 2013 and 2014, Tape/Off have been a reliable presence in Brisbane’s music community going on a decade. Anchored by the founding partnership of singer/guitarist Nathan Pickels and drummer Branko Cosic, Tape/Off released their first EP, “Unreel Unravel”, in 2010, followed shortly by “…And Sometimes Gladness” in 2011.

By the time their debut album, “Chipper”, came out in 2014 the band had locked down the lineup of Pickels, Cosic, bassist Cameron Smith and second guitarist Ben Green. Production of album #2 began immediately after the release of “Chipper”, though it would be four years before the result, “Broadcast Park”, saw the light of day in 2018. Since then, the band have gigged and toured regularly, and in October 2019 released a new single, “Work Xmas Party”.

A relatively new but much beloved presence around Brisbane, Elder are fronted by singer/guitarist Matt Burton and backed by Henry Reese on bass and Talia Bond on drums. After playing their first gig together in February 2018, the following month footage of Burton playing a solo cover of the Violent Soho song “Like Soda” at the Milton Markets went viral, raising the profile of the band.

Since then they’ve played regularly around Brisbane, releasing debut EP “Cyril” in December 2018 on Valley Heat Records. Elder were previously featured on Live Delay a year ago in episode 259, but this set features an almost-entirely different collection of songs, a testament the band’s restless, creative spirit.

They unleashed their debut EP The Express in May, 2016 which earned them support slots for The Delta Riggs, Cherry Dolls and Wolfmother.

2017 saw the release of single “Get Heavy” which landed in 2nd place in the 4ZZZ Hot 100 countdown of 2018. Playing a host of dates across the east coast of Australia earned them an enthusiastic following. The Love, Passion, Satisfaction EP was released in August 2018 with a heavy run of touring to support.
