ORB is comprised of Zak Olsen on vocals and guitar, Daff Gravolin on guitar and bass, and Jamie Harmer on Drums. After their other band ‘The Frowning Clouds’ went on a semi-permanent hiatus in 2016, these three guys revived their teenage interest in Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult, augmented with less familiar heavy rock bands such as Diamond Head and Megadeth. Their debut LP ‘Birth’ came out toward the end of 2016 and has been described as a heaping helping of proto-metal chops meets paranoid sci fi fantastical ravings, replete with some tasty synthesiser werk that breaks it up just so.

Episode 55 takes in the scuzzy live rock of Melbourne trio THE PEEP TEMPEL. We also hear a few live songs from the ASA BROOMHALL BAND.

THE PEEP TEMPEL
Provided to Live Delay by FBI radio Sydney.

THE PEEP TEMPEL are a three piece rock band from Melbourne. They’re known far and wide for their hard hitting garage rock music, capable of turning even the most bitter curmudgeon into crazy party animal. Made up of Blake Scott – Guitar/Vocals. Stevie Striker – Drums/Vocals. Stewart Rayner – Bass, the band have been melting ears for a few years now.

Their self-titled 2012 debut record was extremely well received and even got nominated for a independent music award back in the same year. They kept active in 2013 releasing an EP called ‘The Modern Professional’. The show we have for you today comes from the Peep Tempel playing in Sydney back in early 2013. It’s abrasive, enticing and filled with addictive rock and roll riffs.

ASA BROOMHALL BALL
Produced by John Robinson of BEAU FM.
Mixed by Matt Dever of D4 Studios.

Asa Broomhall is a rock/roots prodigy from Brisbane who has been active since 2000. He fronts the Asa Broomhall band, a threepiece centred around Asa’s incredible blues rock guitar chops.
Asa along with his band, which include Zoltan Campbell on Bass and Chris O’Neill on drums, have played numerous festivals including Woodford, Queensclif Music Festiva, Blues on Broadbeach, Red Deer Festival amongst many others and also toured quite a bit overseas, including visits to the UK, US and Canada. Lately, the band have been playing a bit around the country supporting roots musician Ash Grunwald.

They’ve been a tiny bit quiet since the release of the band’s fifth record, Jangle House, but we’ve managed to dig up a few great live tunes thanks to our friends at Beau FM.
